The Playful Stage
Juneteenth Fundraising Campaign
What is Juneteenth?
Juneteenth celebrates June 19, 1865, the day the last enslaved Black Americans in Texas learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It’s a powerful day of reflection and celebration.
Why it matters:
Juneteenth reminds us of the strength, resilience, and ongoing journey toward justice in the Black community.
How you can honor the day:
One meaningful way to celebrate is by supporting Black-led spaces like The Playful Stage. Your support helps us uplift Black voices and create joyful, inclusive spaces through improv.
Want to make a difference?
A donation helps us offer more classes and workshops, rent performance spaces, and provide scholarships to students in financial need.
Not in a place to give right now?
That’s okay! We’d love to have you as a volunteer—whether it’s helping at a show with photography or welcoming people at our Free Sampler Classes.
